The peer mentoring movement

Peer mentoring is a potent approach to improving population health.

Populations are healing themselves from within.

And our innovative partners are benefiting from and sharing the results their patient populations are experiencing.

Peer mentoring is becoming en vogue!

Our part in the movement

We offer health plans and health systems mentoring-as-a-service (MaaS)— a full service, turnkey offering to engage, activate, and help their patients struggling with chronic diseases through intensive 1-on-1 peer mentoring.

The technology underlying our MaaS offering is valuable to any organization looking to build out an internal peer support program.

Thus, we also license the technology separately as a SaaS (software-as-a-service) offering so patient foundations, hospitals, pharma, and researchers can run their own internal peer support programs with evidence-based tools and built-in best practices.

SaaS — [Software-as-a-Service]

Our (1) PeerStrong™ platform enables light 1-on-1 and group peer support. Our (2) Mentor1to1™ platform enables intensive 1-on-1 mentoring to drive behavior change and deliver improvements in clinical outcomes.

Highlights from 2018:

  • Our PeerStrong™ clients include the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, and NewYork-Presbyterian. We also launched a new model for breast cancer peer support with the Cancer Hope Network and SHARE breast cancer support organizations.
  • Our Mentor1to1™ clients include Duke University and Atrium Health. These clients are using our platform for their NIH, PCORI, and industry-funded research projects.

MaaS — [Mentoring-as-a-Service]

We provide full-service peer mentoring to health systems and health plans to improve clinical outcomes for their high-risk, high-cost patient populations.

Next for us in 2019

Peer mentoring is not a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have — especially for patient populations who disproportionately struggle with social-behavioral determinants of health (S+BDoH).

Peer mentoring is also effective in engaging and helping ethnic minorities — especially for chronic diseases like diabetes where diet plays a key role.

We will continue to over-invest in S+BDoH and support for ethnic minorities.

We will be publishing a large pipeline of data in peer-reviewed journals.

And, as the idea of peer mentoring becomes more en vogue, we will be helping more clients bridge the gap between idea and execution, so they too can experience the benefits of peer mentoring for their patient populations.

Thank you

Thank you to all of the clinicians and researchers who continue to validate the impact of peer mentoring in carefully constructed studies.

Thank you to everyone evangelizing the important role that peer support already plays in health care delivery, and advocating for the bigger role it should play.

Lastly, and most importantly, we owe a tremendous thank you to each and every one of our advisors, investors, peer mentors, mentor advisors, peer supporters, clients, partners, and well-wishers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now looking forward to an amazing journey together in 2019!
